Host an Electronics Recycling Drive for the Whole Office!

Why Recycle Electronics?

Supports the Community: Donating your old electronics supports schools, low income families, non-profit agencies, local people with disabilities, and small startup companies by providing them with refurbished computers and other electronics. Individuals are helped by being able to access technology that they could not otherwise afford.

Conserves Natural Resources: Valuable materials can be recovered from old electronics, and these materials can be used to make new products. Recycling these products reduces the need to mine the earth for new raw materials, and keeps useful materials from ending up in a landfill.

Looking to Recycle Something Else?

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has created a RECYCLING GUIDE to help you find the proper place to take a wide variety of other things as well.

Where Do All The Old Computers Go?

  • Over 250 computers per year are given to local people with disabilities, charities, and schools.
  • Computers, parts, and miscellaneous items are sold to the public as a fund raising tool for Disability Resources.
  • Items that cannot be reused are properly recycled with a recycling vendor that meets the highest standards in electronic recycling. These standards include not exporting materials to unaudited facilities overseas, adhering to all Federal EPA guidelines and regulations, zero landfill policy, Department of Defense level data destruction, and adherence to HIPAA compliance policies.
